Rolls-Royce Motor Cars global sales rose 64% year-on-year for the first six months of 2011 with 1,592 cars delivered to customers.
In a statement Tuesday, July 19, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars said it was the best start to a year since the company was launched in 2003.
It said sales growth was seen in all regions, with a particularly strong performance in Asia Pacific that rose by over 170%, the Middle East up by over 40% and the United States, up by a similar amount.
In Europe, strong performance was seen in Germany, with sales up by nearly 60%, it said.
The company said that there was sustained demand for both Phantom and Ghost models, with around 80% of Ghost customers new to Rolls-Royce.
Rolls-Royce Motor Cars chief executive officer Torsten Müller-Ötvös said the half-year result demonstrated the confidence that its customers had in the company and its products.
“The first six months of the year have also seen Rolls-Royce celebrate our unique heritage, with the centenary of the Spirit of Ecstasy, and demonstrate our innovation, with the Phantom Experimental Electric, 102EX.
“Rolls-Royce Motor Cars continues to operate as the world’s foremost ultra luxury car manufacturer,” said Müller-Ötvös.(theedgemalaysia.com)
